This Thanksgiving, we at Newark Valley Community Connection are filled with gratitude for the incredible people we’ve had the privilege to meet and reconnect with this year. To our new friends like Jerry, Barb, Patty, Chris, and so many others who have recently moved to our community: welcome! You’ve brought fresh energy and warmth to our town. To those who have lived here their entire lives, thank you for sharing your stories, traditions, and deep-rooted connections. We have been learning so much more about who is connected to who and about the history and connections of families! Having lived here for over 40 years, I am still learning more about the foundations of our community. Together, you’ve helped us build a stronger, more vibrant Newark Valley and Northern Tioga County. Finally, we are thankful to all of our board members and volunteers-shout out to you all for making this past year possible!
As we enter the holiday season, we’re excited to share a wonderful lineup of festive events that celebrate the joy of community:
• Friday, November 29 at 6 PM: Start your holiday season with a free showing of Elf. Bring the whole family for a cozy movie night!

• Thursday, December 5 at 6:30 PM: Live dancing—join us to kick up your heels and spread some holiday cheer!
• Saturday, December 7 from 9 AM - 3 PM: Don’t miss our Holiday Magic Craft Fair, featuring unique gifts and handmade treasures.

• 4 PM: As you stroll around the Village wide Holiday Magic Events, be sure to visit us for our Holiday Magic Cake Walk, Community Connection RAFFLES (prizes include wine gift baskets, a trail camera, mini shelf greenhouse, and more!), an Ugly Sweater Contest, and enjoy free hotdogs and hot chocolate.
• Monday, December 9: Warm up with a delicious lunch of pierogi and kielbasa—perfect for the season.
• Thursday, December 12 at 6:30 PM: Get creative at our Holiday Paint & Sip. $25 Suggested Donation

• Tuesday, December 17: Learn the art of holiday bread baking—just in time for the season of giving! $15 Suggested Donation

Looking ahead, the new year promises even more art nights, movie nights, and expanded programs for youth, thanks to a generous grant from the Floyd Hooker Foundation.
As we celebrate Giving Tuesday on November 28, we invite you to consider making a donation to support Newark Valley Community Connection. We cannot continue to provide these enriching programs without your help. Monthly building expenses—utilities, insurance, and maintenance alone—total over $16,000 annually. Every donation makes a difference in keeping this community hub alive and thriving.
To donate, visit our website at newarkvalleycc.com or reach out to us directly. Together, we can ensure that Newark Valley remains a place where neighbors gather, connect, and grow.

Thank you for being part of this incredible journey. From all of us at the Newark Valley Community Connection board, we wish you a very Happy Thanksgiving and a joyous start to your holiday season!
Warm regards,
